Competitors · Step 4 of the method

The places that carry your competitors, in one list

Ask an engine about a company and it cites the pages that talk about it. A Competitor Scan asks about three to five of your competitors at once, and turns the answers into the list of places that carry your market, with one more thing on each: whether you are there.

The competitor is not the subject, it is the instrument

The list of the places an engine trusts on your market is not published anywhere: it is provoked. A scan asks your engine about each company of the basket, what people say about it, whether it is worth its price, which companies use it, what it is compared to, and reads every page the answers cite. What ranks a place is recurrence: cited about one competitor, it is an article; cited about all of them, it is a crossroads of your market.

  • Three to five companies, one engine, four questions each: read, reworded or unticked before anything is spent
  • Questions asked in the language of the market, written from Arabic to Traditional Chinese, and one more is a note to support away
  • Every place carries its way in, its exact pages, its AI Authority, and whether your name is on it

How a scan runs

1

Compose the basket

Three to five companies of your market, each with its website: the domain is what tells two companies with the same name apart. The scan derives the questions and shows every one of them before anything is spent: you reword them, you untick the ones you do not need.

2

Arm it, read the places

The engine answers within minutes. Every cited page is kept, grouped by domain and ranked by how many companies of the basket it covers, then by AI Authority. The amount shows before you arm, and a scan already armed does not charge twice.

3

Take your spots

Each place says the move that takes you there: open your page, join the conversation, pitch the editor, file the listing. Target a page and it lands in your quest file; set the monthly rescan and each pass widens the list, because what one pass found the next one keeps.

Its place in the method

A scan is step 4, next to the Atlas and Corroborations: it says where to go and get corroborated. The Atlas draws that map from your own checks, so it holds the sources that answer on your questions; a scan reads it from the outside, through the companies already cited, and brings back the places that carry them and not you yet. Closing that gap is the move of this step, and what a scan finds feeds the same Atlas, the same quest file, the same workday.

Common questions

How do I find the websites AI assistants cite on my market?

By provoking the list: engines do not publish it. Ask them about the companies your market already talks about, read the pages the answers cite, and count the recurrences. A Competitor Scan runs exactly that on a basket of three to five competitors, keeps the whole answers, and ranks each place by how many of the basket it covers.

What is a Competitor Scan?

A measurement run once on a basket of three to five companies of the same market, on the engine you choose. Four questions per company, every answer archived with its sources, and the cited pages grouped into places: the domain, its exact pages, its AI Authority, the way in, and whether your own name is there. The scan reads a few minutes after you arm it.

In which language are the questions asked?

In the language of the market being measured: a scan of the Dutch market asks in Dutch. The questions are written by us, from Arabic to Traditional Chinese, with the market clause each language calls for; every one shows before you arm, and every one can be reworded. The list grows on demand: name the language you need to support and we put it in place.

What does a Competitor Scan cost?

A scan spends its questions from the same prepaid balance as the rest of the suite, at the price of a check: the exact amount shows on the scan before you arm it, and arming is the only moment anything is charged. The full grid is public on the pricing page.

Do the places found by a scan feed my Atlas?

Yes. A scan collects like any measurement, so every source it surfaces enters your Atlas with its AI Authority and stays on your map. The monthly rescan widens the list rather than refreshing it: two passes of the same question do not cite the same pages, and what one pass found the next one keeps.
